The first is aimed at VFX shops and the second at individuals willing to experience the power of a RenderMan-compliant renderer without paying for the advanced pipeline options that are render farm oriented. Both versions can run 4 threads (meaning they can take full advantage of a dual-core dual-CPU system) and use floating licenses.
