3Delight For Maya Tutorials
A series of six tutorials along with Maya scenes, created by Paolo Berto, give a very good overview of the main features found in 3Delight For Maya. All the tutorials are also available on Paolo's website using fast bittorent transfers. (Please have a look at the licensing details for these tutorials and accompanying material).
Tutorial 0: Installation and Introduction
Gives a walkthrough of the website and explains how to download and install the software.
Tutorial 1: Basic Rendering
Shows how to start renderings and demonstrates an important integration feature: automated shading networks conversion.
Tutorial 2: Render Passes
Explains an important paradigm in 3Delight For Maya: render passes. Also demonstrates RIB export capabilities and quality option settings.
Tutorial 3: Polygons as Subdivision Surfaces
Explains how to render polygons as smooth subdivision surfaces. Additionally, demonstrates one of strongest features of 3Delight: displacements.
Tutorial 4: Output Passes
Shows how to output many render channels (such as diffuse, specular, etc...) in a single render pass and how one can combine those in post-process.
Tutorial 5: RIB Archives
An overview of RIB archive reading and writing capabilities of 3Delight For Maya. Work material include paint effects, deep shadow maps and shadows.
