3Delight Studio Pro 10 released

DNA Research announces 3Delight Studio Pro 10, a major evolution of our state-of-the art RenderMan-compliant renderer. This new release introduces important technological advances in ray-tracing performance and global illumination. 3Delight Studio Pro - formerly named 3Delight - now also includes our popular 3Delight for Softimage plug-in at no additional charge. The 3Delight Studio Pro all-inclusive package enables power users and studios to use 3Delight standalone in their rendering pipeline along with 3Delight for Maya -or- 3Delight for Softimage -or- both.

3Delight for Maya 6.0 released

DNA Research announces 3Delight for Maya 6.0, the latest major evolution of our fully integrated rendering plug-in for Autodesk Maya. Starting immediately, 3Delight for Maya will be available as a package with a new entry level pricing. This package is aimed at artists as well as small to medium sized studio who wish to work with a fast, robust, production-strength renderer that is totally integrated into Maya. This new release improves usability and user-friendliness through improving UI improved user experience in our Maya plug-in and includes many performance and quality improvements in the core renderer.

3Delight for Softimage 3.0 released

Now compatible with Softimage 2011, this new release brings further support for ICE technology (Volumes, Strands and Particles). New features and improvements include Volumics, Render Maps and faster ray-tracing and global illumination through photon-mapping and final gathering.

This new release also unifies the Artist and Studio edition into a single powerful yet affordable version with unlimited multi-core capability. Artists and studios alike will have access to all the advanced RenderMan features such as RenderMan shaders and RIB import/export.

3Delight 9.0 and 3Delight for Maya 5.0 released

This release includes support for unlimited threads, multi-camera rendering, improved point-based occlusion both in quality and speed and a wealth of other performance improvements. 3Delight for Maya now comes with major performance improvements to the Relationship Editor, added support for many useful Hypershade nodes and improved UI for the display driver and the Relationship Editor. 3Delight for Maya also introduces RIB Fragments: a user-friendly and flexible way of creating and managing RIB archives.

3Delight for Softimage 2.0 released

DNA Research announces the release of 3Delight for Softimage 2.0, the second major evolution of the fully integrated version of its RenderMan-compliant renderer for Autodesk® Softimage (formerly SOFTIMAGE|XSI) 3D animation software for visual effects and games production. Building on top of an already solid baseline, this new version further improves integration with Softimage software and introduces support for the new Interactive Creative Environment (ICE) technology, allowing the rendering of massive amounts of particles with 3D motion-blur and depth of field.  To read the entire press release: PDF | HTML

3Delight 8.5 and 3Delight for Maya 4.5 released

This release includes support for RSL 2.0 (shader objects and co-shaders) and further ray-tracing optimizations that should give significant performance gains when rendering displacements and motion-blur. 3Delight for Maya includes a new relationship editor to quickly explore and assign shaders and attributes as well as new "edge rounding" features to easily bevel edges on polygonal geometry.

3Delight 8.0 and 3Delight for Maya 4.0 released

This release includes ray-tracing optimizations, multi-threading optimizations, improved point-based global illumination, improved photon-mapping, new displacement features and extensions to the shading language. 3Delight for Maya has now a hierarchical system for RenderMan attributes, better HyperShade support, better image based lighting capabilities, background rendering mode and many adjustments for better usability.

3Delight for XSI released

DNA Research announces the release of 3Delight for XSI, a fully integrated version of its production renderer for SOFTIMAGE®|XSI® 3D modeling, rendering, animation and character creation software. The plug-in brings the quality and speed of the 3Delight render engine and tools, as well as the power and flexibility of the RenderMan® standard and practices, to the XSI user base. Using the new functionalities of the rendering SDK introduced in SOFTIMAGE|XSI 6.5, the plug-in appears as an integral part of XSI and artists will benefit from a seamless workflow in the user friendly interface of their favorite animation software. 3Delight 7.0 and 3Delight for Maya 3.0 released

This release includes new features for point-based graphics and many performance improvements. New tools have been included for easier work with point clouds and brick maps. 3Delight for Maya is at an unprecedented level of integration: it is now registered as a standard Maya renderer and  accessible  through the Render Globals; batch rendering and command-line rendering work as with the Maya renderer.

3Delight 6.5 and 3Delight for Maya 2.5 released

Ray tracing speed improvements and 64-bit platforms support are the two main features in 3Delight. 3Delight for Maya now supports fur and has better HyperShade support.

3Delight 6.0 and 3Delight for Maya 2.0 released

This latest release includes important features and extensions for multi-pass rendering, global illumination as well as 3D baking.  Maya support has been further improved by providing a better geometry support and HyperShade support.  Many of the released features have been successfully used on such projects as Superman Returns and Chronicles Of Narnia.
