3Delight Version for Daz Studio 4????

It appears Daz Studio 4 does not use 3Delight version 8.5.  However, only version 10 is now available, which I installed.  Both versions show errors for for the following files; background.sdl, distantlight.sdl, dzdisplace.sdl, dzplastic.sdl, dzskin.sdl, dzglossy.sdl, omDispStandard.sdl, omHumanSurface.sdl.  The error is "3DL ERROR S2068: uses a different interface version: please recompile"  3Delight tries to substitute by displaying ERROR S2051 and using an alternate shader, however, that leads to no shaders in the TIFF.
The headers in the SDL files show compiled with 9.0.123.  I assume we need version 9.0.123 to stop this error.  Where can we get previous versions? OR  Can we modify the SDL files so they work with Version 10 of 3Delight?  I doubt I have any way of obtaining the corresponding *.sl files so that I can recompile with Shaderdl.exe.

Re: 3Delight Version for Daz Studio 4????

I am with you redrunner1!  I am having to go back to DS3 because DS4 requires more memory then I have to render and with no 3delight to help, I have to use DS3 and v.8.5.

Re: 3Delight Version for Daz Studio 4????

Thanks for the response.  I am starting another post, asking for 3DL version 9.0.123 to be available for download for Daz Studio 4.  I hope this solves the issue here.

In this case, it should be enough to open the .sdl in a text editor and change the "%code 7 120" line near the top for "%code 7 121"  You'll need to put the modified version only in 3Delight's shader path however as DAZ studio will not read it. This wasn't supposed to be a problem anymore though... I'll get in touch with the DAZ studio developers to see what happened.

Hi Oliver, let us know what happens, but in the mean time can you tell us if 3delight 9.0.123  is available anywhere?

Re: 3Delight Version for Daz Studio 4????

I was told that this will probably be fixed in the next update. In the meantime, I have these:

http://www.3delight.com/en/uploads/pack … -setup.exe
http://www.3delight.com/en/uploads/pack … up-x64.exe

But no OS X version unfortunately.

Re: 3Delight Version for Daz Studio 4????

I changed the code in the *.sdl files that were causing the errors ,as you instructed, and the current version 10.0.4 worked with no errors.  Thanks again.

Linux version?  If not, oh well.  I'll try the modifications on the sdl file.

Will there be a MacOS version or is that no longer possible?

No, I don't have it and it's not likely to be rebuilt as there's a workaround and there should be a fix from DAZ before too long.

Re: 3Delight Version for Daz Studio 4????

Hi Oliver,

While I'm not exactly keen on resurrecting year old threads, this issue is back.  I have found a shader with %code 7 120 that fails the render time recompile in Daz Studio 4.5.1.6 (the latest version). If this _was_ fixed, the issue is back which indicates a regression bug. Either that, or the Daz developers never fixed the problem.  Once I have updated the *.sdl files in question from %code 7 120 to %code 7 121, the shader works correctly.

So, if you can reach out to your contacts at Daz and find out what happened again, that would be awesome.

Oh, and thanks for the tip about changing the version within the SDL files here in this thread. I've been looking for an answer for this for about a week and a half and this topic finally fixed my issue.

Thanks.

Re: 3Delight Version for Daz Studio 4????

Hi Oliver,

The shader is UberShader2 from Omnifreaker (Micah).  I've contacted Micah to explain that this sdl isn't working with DS 4.5.  In fact, I've had an email thread going with Micah for about a week until I came across this thread suggesting to update the version in the sdl (which worked).  Micah had been insisting that the recompile should 'just work' (as you also suggested in this thread).  Well, it doesn't.  I had to manually edit the sdl files to get UberShader2 working.

Thanks.
