Re-establish properties on older scene
When opening older scene with new version of 3Delight, we often miss the SHADING FREQUENCY (MOTION BLUR) and the MAXIMUM DIFFUSE DEPTH, MAXIMUM SPECULAR DEPTH (OPTIMISATION). We can re-establish those propertie by merging the old scene into a new one using a new version of 3Delight.
Does someone know a way to re-establish those properties via script without a merge? We are just trying to make a automation if ever an artist open an old scene, it just automaticly makes 3Delight up to date and ready.

Yes this is a know problem. As of now the only way is to merge the scene but we will provide you with a script to recreate all the properties that appear with each release.

Hi,
I think a simple workaround would be something like this:
- open scene
- uninstall old 3Delight plugin
- delete global 3Delight render property (find it with the explorer scope set to Application, look under passes)
- save scene
- restart xsi
- install new 3Delight plugin
- open scene
The scenes render props should be updated (but you'll lose any settings that have been changed)
